There were a few bumps on the way, but everything finally went through, and now Makeup Breakdown is up and running!  It took a lot of time, but I wanted to put what I could into this.  I’ve learned a ton of people just want to know the basics, and I couldn’t find a lot of videos that explained the basics in detail.  So I finished putting it together, the site is up and running, and there are some members I’ve heard back from that are pretty happy.

I’m making sure everything is running smoothly, and I’m thinking about retaping some of the videos to make them a little shorter, but with the same level of information.

If you’re curious about it, you can go and check it out!  You can see my video version of instructions on how to apply make-up, videos that are of me just doing my makeup.  But explaining everything while I do it.

I’m pretty tired after getting everything going, so I’m probably going to make sure it’s all running okay and then take a break in a day or two.  You know how you have those days were you’re just super busy?  Yeah, I had about four of those days in a row.  I’ll still be around, but hopefully I’ll get some energy by the next time I blog.

Well, Makeup Breakdown is coming out in the morning.  I’m excited!  I hope it all goes smoothly because… well, because you never know (knock on wood).  I’m back to work on finishing up some last things, and I’ll post again right around launch.

A lot of people know I’ve been working on this for a while, but Makeup Breakdown is finally done.  I recorded close to two hours of high def video (you can see every one of my pores in some of the videos, bleah) and some extra downloadable text content.  It’s getting down to making sure everything’s ready to go on Wednesday, but I’m excited about it.

There have been questions about what it’ll cost.  I’ve spent quite a bit to make sure this is put together with good quality, and there are some good tips in the videos.  I asked some of my professional makeup artist friends about what they thought something like this should cost, and they were commenting about how a normal makeup session with them costs over $100.  They said that since this is something you get once but get to use over and over, it should cost more than that.  They were saying $120 or above.

Now I know there’s a lot of good info, but I thought I’d make it a little lower, so more people will be able to learn these tips.  So the price I’m setting is $47.  I think that’s a little better than the $120+ my makeup artist friends were saying.

But I thought it’d be fun to do one more thing… I’m going to give two copies away, for free.  How do you get a copy?  If you’re interested, all you have to do is write a comment under this blog post.  What I want you to write is just this: tell me why you would use Makeup Breakdown.  Why do you want to get professional tips on applying makeup?  What do you need it for?  Is it because you know nothing about it?  Is it because you feel your makeup isn’t something you’re proud of right now?  Is it because you just want some extra tips?

Write it down!  If you’re extra honest, I’ll consider that as bonus points when I pick out the two that I’m giving away.  And don’t forget to put your email address (it won’t show up to the world, just me) so I can contact you if you’re picked for one of the two.

Well, now that summer is starting to come to a close, I’ve finally found some time to sit, breath and blog.

The Tokyo in Tulsa show went well.

We had a wide variety of costuming and makeup designs, as well.

One of my looks was a gothic geisha girl and I got to wear this really nice Kimono. (Nothing too fancy, loosely based on a traditional one.) What made it unique was the jewelry that complimented the outfit, like leather wrist bands with studs in them and really tall and shiny 7 inch heels. It was super fun.

The makeup wasn’t traditional either. We used a soft natural peach look for the lips, cheeks and face then made it really dramatic with a dark and shimmery forest green for the eyes. We didn’t want the makeup to be distracting from the designers clothes, so they down played it and made it a more modern look instead of traditional geisha white paint. I guess they wanted it to look like you could just step off the runway and go out for a night on the town in some fun geisha fashions. Cool idea.

Some other stuff has been going on, too. My Dad has been battling lower intestinal and acute pancreatic sicknesses since ‘02 and he all of a sudden got really sick again in August, just right after the show. Its been really hard on our family, not knowing why he keeps getting this sick and feeling like we don’t know how to help.

I don’t want to go in to much detail here, I just wanted to let you know why I haven’t been around much lately. He’s doing a little better now, but I wish he could just get completely better so he doesn’t have to suffer.

Anyways, thanks for following me on this crazy journey we call life. I guess we have to take the good with the bad, right?

Hey gang,

I’m super excited about a show I’m modeling in this Friday night. Its for a designer who specializes in J-pop, Lolita wear and basically anything popular and fantastical with the Japanese culture. This is the first time I’ll be walking the runway in a long time. (especially in such TALL shoes, lol)

The makeup is so intricate and extravagant, too.

Each girl will have a specifically designed look just for them and the pieces they’ll be wearing… its going to be really unique. Even though, I am not one of the makeup artists for this designer, I am excited to see what they will come up with. It should be very interesting.

I think that they’ll probably incorporate Geisha makeup with big eyelashes and the white face paint to really get in tune with the Japanese culture…and they’ll probably complete the look with those cute, little puckered red lips. You’re guess is as good as mine.

Well, wish me luck and think good thoughts for me this weekend!! Its sure to be an adventurous time!

Hello there,

I just wanted to drop you an update and let you know that I had taken a little time off recently to stop and smell the roses and just enjoy the summer and neglected to promptly answer everyone’s emails.
