Makeup Breakdown comes out Wednesday!

A lot of people know I’ve been working on this for a while, but Makeup Breakdown is finally done.  I recorded close to two hours of high def video (you can see every one of my pores in some of the videos, bleah) and some extra downloadable text content.  It’s getting down to making sure everything’s ready to go on Wednesday, but I’m excited about it.

There have been questions about what it’ll cost.  I’ve spent quite a bit to make sure this is put together with good quality, and there are some good tips in the videos.  I asked some of my professional makeup artist friends about what they thought something like this should cost, and they were commenting about how a normal makeup session with them costs over $100.  They said that since this is something you get once but get to use over and over, it should cost more than that.  They were saying $120 or above.

Now I know there’s a lot of good info, but I thought I’d make it a little lower, so more people will be able to learn these tips.  So the price I’m setting is $47.  I think that’s a little better than the $120+ my makeup artist friends were saying.

But I thought it’d be fun to do one more thing… I’m going to give two copies away, for free.  How do you get a copy?  If you’re interested, all you have to do is write a comment under this blog post.  What I want you to write is just this: tell me why you would use Makeup Breakdown.  Why do you want to get professional tips on applying makeup?  What do you need it for?  Is it because you know nothing about it?  Is it because you feel your makeup isn’t something you’re proud of right now?  Is it because you just want some extra tips?

Write it down!  If you’re extra honest, I’ll consider that as bonus points when I pick out the two that I’m giving away.  And don’t forget to put your email address (it won’t show up to the world, just me) so I can contact you if you’re picked for one of the two.

Don’t be shy - tell me why you could use extra makeup help!

I am a 45 year old mother/grandmother that has invested over 26 years of my life raising 3 children and now helping raise a beautiful granddaughter, whose father walked out on. I have always, always, always loved make-up and wanted to become a professional makeup artist, but I put my dreams “on hold” to be able to devote my time and $$ toward my family. I am now studying everything that I can get my hands on, in order to acheive that dream and would love the opportunity to learn from your experience and hard work as well.
Sincerely,
Cyndi Goodrich <

I am SO excited that I might be picked as a winner. Thanks for considering me. I have never had anyone actually show me how to apply makeup so that I could really look my best. I’m getting older, and I do want to make a good impression on people I meet, as well as look good to myself. I also want to learn how to make it look natural, not caked on like some people I see! :| Basically what I do now is blue eyeshadow, eyelashes, and mascara very lightly on my “getting lighter” eyebrows. I also want to learn how to shape my eyebrows to emphasize my eyes. I’m very interested in learning about the mineral makeups that seem to be all over the internet: which is the best, and least expensive, and how to use them to my advantage. Your videos will certainly help this “old” beginner! Thanks, Tif!
PS I hope your dad is doing better.

I love all your videos on youtube.com and that is the reason why I signed up to your newsletter. I brought some of the stuff that you tried out and shared with us. However, I guess because I don’t kow how to out it on the right way it just doens’t look right on me. I want to feel pretty again and with your help I can do just that..I want to feel and look sexy again. Please pick me so I can once again find love with the new sexy me, if that is possible! All I need to complete me is to put makeup on the right way…I was always called plain Jane but was never happy with the way I look. Please make this Latina happy by choosing me! Thank yu and God bless!

Well, I’m late, but I still wanted to post a big THANKS for the info. I started doing some makeup research after I got tired of wearing the same thing for YEARS. I alternate between pinks and browns (and I LOVE eye shadow). I see magazines with loads of cool styles and stars with great looks and have tried to do some duplicating, but it usually comes out looking clown-like. I just want to get brave and go with some fun colors and different applications, but I also would like to update my natural look so that it isn’t nearly as blah. So, thanks again for all the info that you have compiled!

Hey! thanks for your e-mail and all the information you share with us..
I would like some help about makeup since i have a lot of troubles with my skin and it´s hard to experiment that much on it… i´ve got rosacea, oily skin, acne and i´m very pale so you can imagine how i look when these conditions are combined… it´s terrible!! and specially now that I don´t have a job, it´s not that easy to know what to do, and how to do it… (about makeup). Thanks for sharing all your secrets with us… I really appreciate them and use them every day!

Hope there’s sitll time!

Well, I’m a big fan of yours, and I’m from Brazil! Maybe that counts for something… :) I’m 26 and, like, half Japanese and half Spanish/Hungarian. My skin tone changes a lot during the year, because of the sun (even using sunblock everyday), and I have a hard time finding and applying the right foundation. I also have some ugly dark circles under my eyes and don’t have a clue of how to make them look better without looking like I have a ton of make up on. I’m graduating from college in about a month, and then it will be time to look for work, and of course looking good is extremely important (even though I’ll be an engineer) in a job interview. One other thing: I’m kind of broke right now, and make up classes are a little expensive, so winning this would be wonderful for my budget!

I loved the videos you’ve posted so far, and I believe the next ones will be even better.

Thanks for considering me!

Hey there, I’ve been really looking forward to this for a long time. I’m really interested in make up and am seriously considering a carer in it. I’m trying to learn as much as I can and I really love the videos you’ve posted so far. I’m kind of on a budget, but I really want to get this video, so I’m really not sure what I should do. I really would love to have the video, because you give excellent tips. I’ve been to various websites, read books and watched videos, but nothing has worked as well as your tips. It would be so great if I could win this, but if I don’t, i’m sure this will make someone else really happy. Thanks for making such awesome videos :D.
