Smashbox Halo Review
Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Face Powder
So I got my Smashbox shipment in and I've been trying out the products for a few days. And I must say, at first I didn't know what to expect because this is a new concept for the face powder world, but now I have a better understanding and I wanted to share it with you.
Their claims...
Halo from Smashbox is a solid powder with skincare elements all rolled into one. What makes it different than any other solid out there (and why I wanted to give it a go) is that its enriched with a blend of vitamins, plenty of antioxidants and encapsulated water.
What this does is re-hydrates the skin and puts moisture back into those fine lines and wrinkles. They say that after using this product, within 10 minutes you start to see a significant reduction of the fine lines around your eyes and after 6 weeks, with continued daily usage, you start to see a cumulative result of better, more hydrated and youthful looking skin.
The other appeal to this product is that it has a built in shaver over the product so that when you twist it, it will shave off the powder. This transforms it from a matte solid to a loose powder and releases the antioxidants at that precise time. Kind of like when you grind coffee right before brewing to release the flavour and make it fresh.
I was a little skeptical about all it claimed to do, but was intrigued enough to order it and try it out.
My experience with it...
The first time I tried it, I didn't use any other liquid or powder foundations because I wanted to feel the full effect of the product. I also wanted to do this because they say it has full coverage enough to cover blemishes and red blotches, so it can be used by itself. However, they do say you can use it with any other foundations if you'd like. So all I had on was the moisturizer that I've been using for over ten years.
Immediately, as I was applying, it felt different in a good way. It didn't feel like other harsh, dry powders or that it was caked on. It felt really light, almost translucent.
I could feel an almost dewey or moisturized effect and it did really cover those unwanted blemishes. Another good thing about this product is that it's not too shimmery. It gave a natural luminescent glow to my skin, making it look healthier. After ten minutes, I did feel like the skin around my eye area was beginning to firm up a little bit. It's been about 5 days now and this is all I'm using. I'm starting to feel like my skin is looking better and smoother already. I can't wait to see the difference after 6 weeks. :)
So after my experiment, I definitely have to recommend this product. I've always been sold on mineral makeups, but I think I could convert to this powder, especially after seeing how it gives my skin a natural glow and healthy tone. I'd love to know if I got lucky with my use of it or if it works this well for others, so if you decide to try it for yourself please write me and let me know how well it works for you.
